Frequently Asked Questions

Lutheran? What's that mean?

Excellent question! Lutherans have always had a strong emphasis on the grace of God. That affects everything we do and believe. BLC is part of the Southern Ohio Synod, a synod within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. You can learn more by following these links:

Is there a nursery?

Yes, but you don't have to use it!
We do have a nursery available if necessary, but we also want you to know that children are welcome in worship. Sometimes, children need a break, and if that is the case, certainly  utilize our nursery. But if you have children and you're worried they will need to wiggle or won't stay quiet ... don't. God wants them in worship, and we do too!

Do you have communion every week?

Yes! Every Sunday, we gather together to experience Christ's presence in the sacrament of Holy Communion. Through this "taste test" of the heavenly banquet, our sins are forgiven and we are joined with God and one another. As we receive God's grace in such a tangible way, we become more grace-full and loving - more Christ-like.

Is there Sunday School?

We have an adult Sunday School class every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
Our youth have Sunday School every Sunday during worship. After the children's message, youth are invited to join Miss Barb for a lesson and craft - and usually a little snack! They return to worship in time for Communion.

Any mid-week opportunities?

We have Bible study every Wednesday from 6 - 7 p.m. at Triple Moon Coffee Company. (1100 Central Ave. Middletown, OH)
Mid-week worship happens throughout the year, so be sure to check out our calendar for the latest schedule!

How can I give online?

Ok, if you're new to BLC you're probably not wondering this.  :) However, our members sometimes do, so, here's an instructional video:
